How the numbers are calculated
The amount you receive and the total cost are added together to give the total repayable. With regular repayments, that total is spread evenly across the term: monthly figures divide by the number of months, weekly figures use 52 weeks a year, fortnightly use 26, and the business-day figure assumes about 21.7 banking days a month. With no repayments, the whole total is due at the end of the term.
Comparing two fast offers in minutes
When you are moving quickly it is easy to compare the wrong things: one quote shows a weekly figure, another a fee plus interest, a third a factor of the amount borrowed. Turn each into a total cost, run it through here and compare three numbers side by side: the total repayable, the cost for every dollar received and the share of your deposits each repayment would take.
Prepaid or added interest
Some property-secured business loans let you prepay the interest up front or add it to the loan, which means nothing comes out of your account during the term. That can be very useful when cash is tight now but a sale, refinance or big payment is coming. The trade-off is a larger payout at the end, so the exit plan needs to be solid. Our guide to prepaid versus added interest explains when each one makes sense.
Before you accept any offer
- Confirm the total amount repayable, every fee and the cost of paying out early.
- Check the repayment frequency and which day it is debited.
- Put the repayment into the cash flow gap calculator to test your tightest week.

Questions about this tool
Why do I enter a total cost instead of an interest rate?
Fast business finance is priced on each business's circumstances and can combine interest, establishment fees and other charges. The total cost, meaning everything you repay above the amount you receive, is the one figure that lets you compare any two offers fairly.
What if my interest is prepaid or added to the loan?
Some property-secured loans let you prepay interest or add it to the loan so there are no regular repayments for a period. Use the 'no repayments' option to see the single payout figure at the end of the term instead of a weekly amount.
Why show repayments for each business day?
Many short-term unsecured facilities collect a small amount every business day rather than once a month. Seeing the daily figure alongside weekly and monthly ones makes offers with different schedules easy to compare.
Is anything I type here saved?
